RPG Builder Resources

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

First and foremost if you want to get started in Unity and building an RPG you'll most likely start your work within a framework. The focus of this site at the moment is the RPG Builder (RPGB) framework since that's going to serve as the foundation for our game.

RPGB was built and is maintained by a guy named Thomas, who owns and operates a company named Blink. Blink sells a wide variety of assets, primarily on the Unity store, though some of them have recently been added to the Unreal store as well.

Essential RPGB Links:

What does RPGB provide?

A lot. I don't think I can do it justice in just a paragraph or two, so I won't even try. Instead, I'll defer to the links above. What I will say is that virtually all of the features you could desire in an RPG are achievable in some way using RPGB. Some things are more polished or tuned than others, but that's okay. We can integrate other assets into our pipeline, modify the RPGB core code to suit our needs, or develop something from scratch. If you follow along on this site, you'll see how we can take what Thomas has built and very easily extend or enhance it to support our needs.

Next Steps

If you're an owner of RPGB then you can follow along with any of the mods I publish to this site. If you're not an owner, check out the some of the links above to see if it's right for you.
